Myra Dziama, producer/director, is a graduate of the University of Toronto and studied at l’Université de Haut Bretagne in Rennes, France. She has more than 20 years of experience in film and television production on a national and international level.

Largely focusing on non-fiction and documentary programming, her diverse career has covered everything from social justice, politics, and the environment to entertainment and children’s programming. To each project, she brings her creative and technical expertise as well as a passion for truth and justice through her storytelling.

Her broadcast credits include OMNI Television, Stornoway Communications, iChannel, The Pet Network, TVOntario, Groupe Média TFO, Life Network, HGTV, CTS Crossroads Television Systems, Radio-Télévision Suisse-Romande, and NHK Japan.

On October 28, 2025, an important event called Canada, Land of Refuge: Polish Orphans of Tengeru and the 85th Anniversary of the Deportation to Siberia was held at Library and Archives Canada. The documentary filmmaker Myra Dziama attended this event to share her film Childhood DENIED. It tells the heartbreaking story of the Tengeru orphans using old footage and the story from a child’s point of view.

Alongside her, professor and author Lynne Taylor, who also took part in the film, spoke about the challenges faced by these children and their incredible resilience. After the presentation, there was an emotional question-and-answer session, where the audience engaged deeply with the film’s themes and shared their own stories. This event highlighted the importance of remembering the history of these children and their journey to safety and freedom.
